Dawa Sherpa

My name is Dawa Sherpa.
I was born in Oct 6, 1983 in a village “Yarmasing” that lies at an altitude of 2000M, on the northwest Himalayas of Nepal close to Nepal Tibet border. I have 7 members in my family. I was a first boy from my village to get education in English School at Kathmandu. My father was the tourist guide and he knew the importance of education while his journey in life at trekking and guiding in mountains with tourists. It was my father to educate me in English School at Kathmandu and he wanted me to help my community of my village back after I got my education.

I did as my father had dreamt from me after my education as I finish my higher secondary school (Grade 12) in 2003. Madam Magda King had built a beautiful school in my village “Yarmasing” where the children from nine villages were studying in School. I worked with Madam Magda King at Namlo Foundation as project coordinator for year 2003 to 2008 and served my village for 6 years at my sustainable program in coordination with Namlo Foundation. I am very proud to say that the children of my village are well educated and they can speak well English and also the villagers are so awareness.

Thank you

Kind Regards,

Dawa Sherpa
